Profile

Theresa Udofia is an experienced Chemistry Teacher and a scholar of Department of Science Education at University of Uyo. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D. Science Education in Chemistry Education) from University of Ibadan.

She has been a recipient of several awards including Best Conference Paper Award by Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) in 2006, Award of Excellence 2019 From Science Education Students’ Association University of Uyo. (SESA) in 2019 and much more.

Her intelligible contributions has made her prefered for responsibilities, task, duties and services within the University and beyond. Some of which includes Co-ordinator Sandwich Programme, Department of Science Education 2016- Till date, Assistant Environmental Officer, Department of Science Education, Postgraduate Co-ordiantor, Department of Science Education(2017-2022), Post graduate School Representative (2018-Date), President, Nung Edong Ediene Women Association, Oku Clan, Uyo (2000- 2005), Member Board of Trustees, Gospel for All Race Foundation, Nigeria .

She holds membership in several professional bodies such as Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Member- Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), Member, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria(TRCN) etc.

She teaches and supervises courses, projects, dissertations and thesis to Undergraduate and Post Graduate students. Deep research in Improvisation in Chemistry Teaching, Instructional Delivery and Gender Issue has brought forth several Journal Articles, Book chapters and Conference papers and several are open access in this knowledgebase.

She is married and blessed with beautiful children.
